Carrying import marks for London in 1898 by Albert William Feavearyear for Tiffany & Co. this incredibly rare, Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Cocktail Shaker, is plain in design, and features a built in strainer, and a sliding mechanism on the top part of the shaker which can be moved upwards to expose the straining holes for pouring. The cocktail shaker measures 7.5"(19cm) tall, by 3.5"(9cm) in diameter, and weighs 12.59 troy ounces.
Albert William Feavearyear was the manager of Tiffany's London store at 221 Regent Street. The sliding mechanism cocktail shaker was first patented in 1885 by Michael Seips, with the patent then assigned to Manning, Bowman & Co. for production. The design number 9727 on the Tiffany cocktail shaker dates their design to 1889, suggesting that Tiffany purchased the design and patent from Manning Bowman.
