Hallmarked in London in 1875 by John Henry Williamson, this charming pair of Victorian, Antique Sterling Silver Candlesticks, are fine reproductions of a William & Mary period design, and each are engraved with a crest and motto. Each candlestick measures 7.5"(19cm) tall, by 4.75"(12cm) wide, by 4.75"(12cm) deep, and together they weigh 22.6 troy ounces.
The motto reads 'Floreat Majestas' which translates as 'Let majesty flourish'. The crest is that of the Scottish naturalist and ornithologist John Alexander Harvie-Brown.
