Hallmarked in London between 1928 and 1933 by Catchpole & Williams, this stylish, large, Sterling Silver Tea & Coffee Service, comprises a tea kettle, a coffee pot, a teapot, a hot water pot, a milk jug, a cream jug, a sugar bowl and a tea caddy, all octagonal in shape, and with wooden handles and finials to the kettle, coffee pot, hot water pot and teapot. The set together weighs an impressive 225 troy ounces.
The kettle measures 14.5"(37cm) tall, by 8.5"(21.5cm) from side to spout. The coffee pot measures 9"(23cm) tall, by 10"(25.5cm) from handle to spout. The hot water pot measures 8.75"(22cm) tall, by 7.5"(19cm) from handle to lip. The teapot measures 7.5"(19cm) tall, by 8"(20cm) from handle to spout. The milk jug measures 6.25"(16cm) tall, by 5.5"(14cm) from handle to lip. The cream jug measures 4"(10cm) tall, by 4.5"(11.5cm) from handle to lip. The sugar bowl measures 3.5"(9cm) tall, by 5.5"(14cm) from handle to handle. The tea caddy measures 5.75"(14.5cm) tall, by 4.25"(11cm) in diameter.
