Hallmarked in London in 1773 by Charles Wright, this striking, George III, Antique Sterling Silver Cup and Cover, features reed detailed loop handles, applied acanthus decoration, and an engraved coat of arms. The cup and cover measures 19"(48cm) tall, by 12"(30cm) from handle to handle, by 8"(20cm) deep and weighs 81 troy ounces. The coat of arms is that of John Frederick Sackville, 3rd Duke of Dorset, Lord Lieutenant of Kent and the British Ambassador to France during the lead up to the French Revolution.
